Grok Pricing Explained: The New X Subscription Plans and Who Each One Is For

Short answer: Grok now has five individual plans under one bundle called The X Subscription. Free is $0, Plus is $8 a month, Premium is $30, Super is $100 and Ultra is $200. Every paid plan shares one pool of AI usage across Grok, Cursor and the Grok tab on X, and it also covers your X Premium perks. If you want Grok Bot, the always-on AI agents I use to help run my businesses, Premium at $30 is the starting point.

xAI (now part of SpaceX) announced the new plans on October 2, 2026, and they replace the old SuperGrok lineup for new sign-ups. I checked every price below on x.ai/pricing on October 12, 2026. Here’s what each plan includes, who it’s actually for, and how I use Grok to run a flower shop and a travel business.

The new Grok pricing at a glance

These are the individual plans as xAI lists them. Prices are monthly, in US dollars, before tax.

Teams pay the same per-seat price as individuals on Premium, Super or Ultra ($30, $100 or $200 per seat), with admin controls, SSO and consolidated billing added. Enterprise pricing is custom.

The naming will trip people up

Under the old lineup, “SuperGrok Plus” was the $100 tier. Under the new one, “Plus” is the $8 tier and does not include Grok Bot. If an older guide says Plus gets you agents and 1080p video, it’s describing a plan new customers can no longer buy.

How the usage pool works

There’s no published message count. Each plan gets a pool of usage shared across Grok Chat, Imagine, Voice, Grok Bot, API access and Cursor, and different tasks draw it down at different rates. The allowance refreshes weekly, so one heavy day doesn’t wreck your month. Run out and you can buy a top-up or wait for the reset. Third-party models inside Cursor aren’t included and are billed separately at API list prices.

Already paying for SuperGrok or X Premium?

Nothing changes unless you want it to. Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers can keep their current plan and price, or switch from their billing settings with a prorated refund on the old plan. I walk through what switching actually changes, including refunds, app store subscriptions and what happens to your Grok Bots, in what the X Subscription is and how it works.

What Grok is, if you’re new

Grok is xAI’s AI assistant. You can chat with it, talk to it by voice, have it search the web and X in real time, and generate images and video with Grok Imagine. Grok Build is its coding agent. Grok Bot is the newer piece, and it’s the one that changed how I work. Instead of a chat window you visit, Grok Bot gives you a roster of agents with their own computer that keep working in your apps and inboxes while you’re doing something else.

Don’t confuse the consumer plans with developer pricing. Developers building their own apps pay through the xAI API by the token; xAI’s docs list Grok 4.7, its newest model, at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens (prompts under 200,000 tokens). Most small business owners never touch that side.

Which Grok plan should you choose?

xAI’s own recommendation is Premium for new AI users, Super for daily agent users, Ultra for power users and Plus for social creators with light AI needs. I’d put it a little more bluntly.

  • Free to test whether Grok’s answers and tone work for you before paying anything.
  • Plus at $8 if X is where you build your audience and you mostly want the checkmark, creator tools and some AI help writing posts. Don’t buy it expecting agents.
  • Premium at $30 if you run a business and want AI to take work off your plate. This is the cheapest plan with Grok Bot, and for most solopreneurs it’s the right place to start.
  • Super at $100 once you have agents running every day and you keep hitting the weekly limit. Upgrade because of real usage, not because it sounds serious.
  • Ultra at $200 for people running many agents or heavy coding work all week. If you have to ask whether you need it, you probably don’t yet.

How I use Grok to run DGM Flowers and Tye Travel

I run DGM Flowers, a flower shop in Fort Lauderdale, and Tye Travel. I also drive rideshare, so a lot of my working day happens in a car. I needed help that doesn’t depend on me sitting at a desk.

My answer is about a dozen Grok Bot agents, each with one lane. Morgan is my chief of staff and routes work between the others. Camille handles florals and proposals for DGM. Mateo runs Tye Travel’s social and reads supplier email. Blair handles marketing for Tye In Bloom. Hope follows up with customers. Reid does research. One lane per agent keeps two bots from answering the same customer.

The rule that makes it work is simple. Agents draft, I approve, and only then does anything go out. That applies to social posts, customer emails and text messages. Bots can flag problems, but only a person on my team confirms things like a delivery.

In practice that looks like voice calls from the car where I approve a stack of drafted replies in a few minutes. It looks like Mateo checking supplier mail twice each weekday and flagging a cruise flash sale early enough to post it. It looks like Camille building the wholesale price list and recipe sheet that every DGM quote now starts from. I wrote up a full week of this, including the alert my agents missed, in how I run my small businesses with a team of AI agents.

How solopreneurs, florists and travel advisors can use Grok

You don’t need twelve agents. Start with one job that eats your time every week and give an agent that lane. Here’s where I’d look first.

Customer replies

Have Grok draft first responses to website inquiries, DMs and reviews in your voice. Give it your prices, policies and delivery area in writing so it doesn’t guess. Keep approval on every reply until you trust the drafts.

Order and inbox triage

An agent can watch an inbox and sort it into “needs me today,” “can wait” and “ignore.” For a florist, that means new orders and delivery questions rise to the top. Tell it explicitly that new orders are never routine. I learned that one the hard way.

Social content

Give an agent your calendar of holidays and promotions and have it draft a week of posts for you to approve in one sitting. Florists can plan around Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day; travel advisors can turn supplier promos into posts while the deal is still live.

Research

Use Grok’s real-time web and X search for supplier comparisons, entry requirements or competitor pricing. Ask for sources and verify anything a client will see.

Lead follow-up

In my experience, leads go cold from silence more often than from a better offer. An agent can track who asked for a quote, draft a follow-up after a few days and close out stale leads so your pipeline stays honest. If you’re a florist weighing how customers find you in the first place, my piece on local florists vs. big flower delivery sites covers the other side of that problem.

How to get started this week

  1. Sign up for Free at x.ai/pricing and use Grok for a few real tasks, like a customer reply or a supplier comparison.
  2. Pick the one weekly job you most want off your plate.
  3. Upgrade to Premium when you’re ready to try Grok Bot, and give your first agent that single lane with written rules.
  4. Approve everything for the first few weeks. You’ll learn quickly where it’s sharp and where it guesses.
